dirtkink, I think it's rated at something like 4 or 5 hours. There are display brightness settings and I'm sure that along with the ambient temp will have an effect on the battery life.

How long does the battery work on one of these units - hour straight? two?

I have been fishing straigh for 5 hrs & the battery life gauge barely moved. I would think it would be much longer. I heard they are working on a cigeratte lighter plug in attachment to work in our trucks to. Charge it up when you go it to eat. Nice!

I'm glad I found this thread as I'm thinking about buying one of these units. I see you are able to switch from a side view to a down view - excuse my lack of knowledge but how do you do this on this particular camera?

Also as long as I'm asking questions, have you tried using it in the summer and attach it to your trolling line? I'd bet that would be cool.
