Magnum 49cc III Plus parts??

Wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase parts for these. The recoil on mine is broken and requires me to take it apart and recoil it and place the spring just right EVERY time i start it up, thus the reason it hasn't been used yet this year. Ive tried looking around the internet but haven't had any luck yet finding just the recoil. Anyone know where I could find one?

order the parts right from strikemaster. go to their HSOforum. there is a section on just parts. that engine is very common and there is that chance a small engine shop will have the parts also. that engine is just a tecumseh 2HP motor.

I called Coles which was on the strikemaster list of sellers, and was told that since Tecumseh was now out of buisness finding parts for this auger would be impossible. Oh well

Call Strikemaster direct, they might just have what you need. They are great guys to work with.

PS. I went on their HSOforum and they have recoil repair kits for $18 for the Tecumsuh motors.

u can either call strikemaster or go to their shop directly in big lake.... i have exact same auger & they will take very good care of you. FYI, it is walk in service and sometimes there may be a bit of a wait, they did a great job on my tune-up early nov. & added new diaphram & gas line plus seals. it is also great place to stock up on the chipper blades as u can getem there for $10 (i think) with no packaging, 1/2 off retail.

you might have to check around but that engine was used by strikemaster(and I believe even Jiffy used it) from the late 80's up to the year before they released the solo motor. there might not be original tecumseh parts but because there is thousands of these out there there should be aftermarket parts for this motor. I run this same auger and mine is a 1991 model.

Ya i went on the HSOforum and did some research. Tried calling them but not open on weekends. I live about 3 hours north so going there isnt an option but I found a diagram of my recoil and figured the parts I need.

I need parts 4-7 on the Type 1 recoil. Mine are worn out and the thing that spins out to catch the "blades" of the top doesnt go in and prevents the recoil from rewinding

The pawl isnt retracting from the flywheel when you pull the rope which doesnt allow the recoil to rewind.
