DRH1175
I going to insulate my garage walls and because of Moisture issues I want to use a foam product. I was thinking either of 3 inches of foam board or 2 inches board and a inch of closed cell over that. Either way I will be using can foam around all edges for a air tight seal. Would there be any advantages to using the Closed cell spray foam in this situation.
efgh
I would think open cell would hold water in the small air pockets in the foam around the windows. just my thoughts.
Broadside
Closed cell spray foam is the best thing on the market for insulating but as always its the most expensive. I would figure the price and the time cutting the foam board to fit and compare it to the price of just spraying the whole thing with 2 inches(R-14 and air sealed) and see if your time is worth the savings. Closed cell foam is going for about $1.80 to $2.00 a square foot for 2 inches installed from dealers. just my opinion.
