Jiffy auger cutting problem

H0LE HOPPER

Question

So i take in my dull blades to get them sharpened and put them back on the auger with no problem and have never had a problem like this before well now when i want to drill a hole the Blades like catches on the last bit of ice and just stop and some times lock up and shut off. Now its not catching on the side just that last inch to an inch an a half of ice and i Have NO IDEA how to fix it almost ruined one of my trips up north, good thing i brought my extra auger! Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. Look very carefully at the braces down at the blade. One of mine had broken and it changed the angle of the blade so it caught when going through ice. I ended up buying a whole new drill assembly at FF for around $100.
