AaronM
October?? I cant wait for tomorrow because I get better looking every day but with jerk baits i usually cast, let it sit for about 10 seconds and start my retrieve. I twitch and pause, twitch and pause until I get to the boat. Depending on the day, I very my retrieve with different speeds. Good luck fishin. fishinfrenzy
Guest
I'd add only one thing -- always remember to figure eight that jerk bait at the boat. Make it a long sweep alongside the boat, out sharply, and back. Even with jerk baits there will be viscious strikes on the good old figure eight. Terry Hagstrom
I prefer eractic snaps twitches, pauses, and jerks when retrieving a Reef Hog, Suick, etc.Mixing it up seems to produce more strikes than follows. The main idea has always been to make the bait looking like a struggling, dying easy meal. A consistant rythmic retieve does not accomoplish this. One more thing. Prevent yourself from going to fast. It's easy to get in this groove or mode especially after boating a fish.Remember, covering alot of water VS. thouroughly cover a fair sized area can add up to a fishless day. Give them a chance, slow it down. I know this sounds like a Spring tactic but quite often it triggers fish in July, August and Sept.Hope this helpsTerryTerry's Guide Servicewww.fishingmn.com/terry
