Fisher Dave
Everybody has different ideas on the best lines to use. There are several high quality lines out there. The most important thing here is to be sure your equipment ... not just line is ample for the species you are seeking. A decent rod is as important as a dependable reel with a good drag system when fishing for any larger specie of fish. There is no perfect lure or presentation on the city lakes. All of the lakes you named are good at various times of the year. Harriet and Calhoun are by far the most dependable for Muskies. Harriet has lots of pure strain and Calhoun is well known to the locals that fish it for Tigers and respectable notherns recently. Lake Nokomis holds some monster Tigers but has been a tough lake for me personally for the muskies.Bucktails have always been reasonably productive at Harriet for me. Black, green, and red are my top colors with a gold or orange blade. The outside of the weedline is a good place to focus. Large crankbaits also fair well at Harriet. Lake Calhoun I keep my money on spinnerbaits as they are usually most productive ... with live bait being second. If you or anyone has any questions ont he city lakes, shoot me an email and I'll help out if I can ... We have some of the best muskie fishing in the state right here in Minneapolis .... shhhhhh[email protected]
