Lowrance x67c ice machine help

I'm wondering if someone can help me with the settings for my x67c. I'm really not well versed in using a fish finder on the ice and I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I have no problem seeing my lure if it is large, but I can't see smaller ones. I guessing there are different settings for different sitiuations, but just wondering if there are some "general rules". I thought I had it set fairly well at one point, but then I reset everything and it just looks like a big mess to me now. I much prefer using the graph over the flasher. Thanks a lot for your help!

I like to go to the flasher mode and have it in ice view mode. I also zoom in which splits the round flasher screen to the bottom few feet for zoom. You can also manually set your upper and lower limits of what you can view. For instance if you are in 10.6 feet of water you can set your low to 11 feet and your upper to 8 feet. I them turn my flasher sensitivity down to were my lure is just barely seen. I turn it down low enough that it isnt visible at times. I might have to wiggle it to get it to show. That way Im sure when a fish moves in it is actually a fish. I also make sure i max out my ping speed.

just curious if you are having problems just in the evening. I am finding this year that I can't use my X67c after dark due to the huge amount of zooplankton in the water column. The screen is filled with blobs and dark clouds rendering the screen useless at virtually all sensitivity settings. During daylight, the graph performs normally. Otherwise, there is a lot of discussion regarding X67c settings and adjustments from previous years. Perhaps a search will get you the information you need.

Also, when I was having difficulty a couple of years ago, a member suggested that I change the fuse and fuse holder. While I was doubtful that this was the problem, I made the change and haven't had any trouble (with the exception of this year's plankton)....

Why is your unit reseting itself? For starters make sure everything is on manual mode and not auto. Chart and ping speed on high, Surface clarity high, noise rejection to off unless your getting interference from nearby units. Adjust the sensitivity so you can see a faint solid trace signal and adjust It accordingly. Set your upper limit to 5 and lower limit 1ft over what the depth is saying on the screen. When you set your upper limits mind you you won't pick up a signal until you go past the depth that you've set it at. Give these settings a shot and report back. Good luck and tight lines!

I have the same unit, it took me a while to dial in in. The biggest problem I have with it is interference with other units. As stated above just play with the settings mentioned. One way of geting the correct sensitinity is to crank it up so the screen black with. Start dialing it down until you do not have any "salt and pepper" on the screen. You should be able to turn the sensitivity down more once your lure is down there. You should just be able to pick up your lure if it is set right.

You also want to make sure that the transducer is pointing straight down or towrds your lure. The cable for the tranaducer is a little rigid and can cause the tranducer to point out to one direction becasue the cable will not pull taught under the transducer's weight. I drill three holes in my house. the one in the middle is for my flasher and I have to twist the cable just right so it picks up both of my lures.

I am sure you have done this but the best way to learn is to sit out on the ice during a slow fishing time with the book and play with it.

I was testing one out for the first time last weekend in Cove Bay. I was only in 9" feet of water and had a ton of small Perch down there. It was really hard to setup the unit to see where my lure was within the pile of Perch. The only way I could read it was keep moving my lure up and down so I could see where it was. If I increased the gain it was just a pile of lines and then I could make out anything? I hope this unit may work better in deeper water when fishing for eye's? I did have a FL-18 and Humm 55 with me and could see things a little better with them in the shollow water.

    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
