Otter/Canvascraft Compatability

I am curious if anyone knows if the canvascraft insulated tarp would fit on the otter square tubing(new style) poles. I've heard that the canvascraft tarp is a heavier weight insulation than the otter insulated tarp. However I don't like the idea of going back to the round conduit style poles and I hate the camo otter pattern. I fished out of a buddies clam denalli today with the round poles and I would've thrown the thing in the garbage with the ways the poles bound when trying to collapse it. Could a person buy the otter square anondized poles and a canvascraft tarp and make them compatibile or are the pole lengths different? Willing to pay the extra money if it would work.

I'm pretty sure you need to use the CC frame/poles for their canvas. I've heard that they have a very nice pole setup actually but I know what you mean about cheap round ones binding. I don't think this is the case with CC poles though.

I have a Canvas Craft shelter with all Otter accesories. The simple answer to your question is no they are not compatible. However, the CC poles are not going to bind up on you. The sliding poles are composed of 1/2" conduit inside 3/4" conduit. There is plenty of room to slide. As far as durability goes I had my house out Monday in 30+ mph gusts and it stood strong. I don't foresee any trouble with the pole system but if something does happen I like knowing that I can go into any home improvement store and fix the problem for next to nothing and quickly.

I bought a new otter this year and did not want to just because the canvas is so ugly but i will tell that after getting it out on the ice I dont even notice the canvas anymore. They are so comfortable, quiet in the wind, and very durable.

Thanks everyone for your info. It seems like I can always come to this forum for answers to my questions. Much appreciated. Now if I can just get Otter to build an insulated canvas in a non-camo version. Just don't think I can ever do the conduit style poles again.
