Trollmaster Pro 2 or Control King?

Northlander

Question

Im going to buy one of these for my 9.9 4 stroke yamaha kicker. For those that have used one or both whats your likes and dislikes and wich do you guys think performs better. Both have some good deals going on now with the control king being a few bucks cheaper.

Does the control king have as precise speed control as the new Pro 2?

I have the trollmaster II and everyone I know that has a trolling control uses the trollmaster. I can't say anything bad about the control king, but I have no reason to change. The precise throttle adjustments that the trollmaster gives and the ability to go to idle and then right back to your setting is all I need.

Haven't ever used, been in boat with, or know of anyone with the Control King. I've had 2 TrollMastters and know lot of guys with them. I've never had any issues with mine and the new digital Pro 2 is much more precise than the older one, IMO. A few bucks wouldn't be worth the "jump" to something else if I were looking at a new set-up.

Good luck...if you go with the Control King, let us know what you think of it. Looks like it's got all the functions (idle / run and max throttle) the TM's do.

I ordered up a Control King after several guys told me they work good and their cutomer service is good if you do have a issue. Plus I got it for about $70 less than a Trollmaster. Of course it wont get installed for a while but once I get it up and runnin Ill report back.
