HB Software & Navionics Chip

First, im not tech savvy, anyway i got navionics chip for my HB fish finder this past fall and have also downloaded a program onto my pc from HB that is supposed to be compatible, does anyone know if navionics chip should work on HB program on pc? thx

....and what am i supposed to be able to do on this HB program? i have opened it up a few times, dont understand anything, & not getting anywhere. More than likely im a complete dunce but any info/help would b appreciated.

I dont know if Humminbird PC is a program to read a mapping chip or not. Ive never tried it. I get really nervous about even sticking my chip into a computer.

Id find a power source for your unit and use your unit to navigate thru the chip.

I know that Humminbird PC has a waypoint management system in there, that will convert Lowrance to HB.

My Navionics state not to try and download as it may erase them...Some kind if piracy protection...

k, can understand navionics not working with HB program, then what is the HB program for and how could i use it?

maybe a smart intuitive person would read manual and see if theres anything bout it in there.

The hb program is used to update hb graph software and also as a waypoint management tool. Fugawi sells software called Navionics Navplanner 2 that comes with a navionics chip specific card reader that can read the newest platinum and international cards. The software is preloaded w/ the navionics premium card data for the entire us.

....so the hb program is purely to update software?

i actually think it is also to follow stored waypoints, gps locals, etc. but just realized i have not recoreded anything on it yet.
