Yellow Dog
We caught a few very fat crappies last weekend on Pepin in about 5 feet of water. I am wondering why it was here and there. In the past, once I find them, it's a quite a bunch. We used tube jigs, some tipped with minnows and some not, changed colors frequently but could not solve the riddle of the that day on the crappie. I'd wager that they will be there all fall.Any suggestions?
CrappieJohn
Y-dog.... It is still a bit early for a solid crappie bite on the big lake. The backwaters will give up more fish right now. Once the water temps drop below the 50 degree mark the crappies in Pepin will be much more concentrated....find a couple and you'll likely find several more. Just have to wait'em out.------------------Plastics...making better fishermen without bait! Good Fishing Guys!
