Live-well Treatment and use....your thoughts

Last year I started using catch-and-release livewell treatment on occasion and I really couldn't tell if it made a difference or not. I never had a problem with keeping fish alive but figure that it can only help. Wanted to see what you guys use and what tips you can provide on how you take care of your fish. One thing that I do on days that get hot is I do not pull in new water later in the day. I know a lot of pros do the same thing due to the fact that you generally pull in water that is warmer than whats already in the livewell. When I do this I cycle my recirculator on every 3 minutes for 1 minute.

I started using the U2 treatment and I think it helped. Seems to calm the fish down and stopped bleeding. Of course the one time I really needed it, I didnt have it with.

The Koolwell systems are interesting. Might look into one of those.

I use the Oxygenator branded livewell treatment. This is the first year fishing tournaments and used this as well as frozen gatorade bottles. My live well doesnt recirculate so I do draw in fresh water sometimes but throw in more frozen bottles and add a little more treatment.

I only know of one fish that died, it was a gill hooked fish and I was in July During that really hot week, temps that day were well over a hundred.

It doesnt cost much and Ill do what I can to ensure my catch survives.

I like to hear this, do what you can to save your catch. I was actually kind of turned off by the way some people seemed to care (or not care) for the fish.
