Porty Window Fix

They have the clear material at fabric stores. Can't remember what it's called. It is cheap so I did not worry about getting stuff that was cold resistant. The most exspensive part is the stick on velcro that you can get at the fabric store or even cheaper at wally world.

One thing I forgot about was to just cut the old velcro off the cracked window and glue that to your new piece.

Took about 3-4 days to get my replacement for my Eskimo, and it was the exact match...How much gas will you spend driving around to find the right stuff plus material cost and time to fabricate something? And then hope it lasts. If it takes 3 gal of gas to run around looking for stuff you just spent what a new window costs....

Have any of you created the velcro type windows on older models that just had the plastic sewn into the canvas? I was thinking about doing that to my older otter since I have a cracked window as well. If so, did you just use the stick on velcro, or did you actually sew the new ones on. I do not sew, so I am thinking it may be more work than what I am able to do. I am thinking that just sticking on the velcro, wouldn't stay on in the cold. Maybe, I am underestimating the sticky back of the velcro, but to me i am feeling that if I didn't connect the velcro with some sort of stitching, i would be always messing with it falling off. I am thinking that 20lb power pro should hold it on. Any suggestions appreciated.

On my old Eskimo I had all of the windows break in one day (bummer) but I replaced them with the thinnest plexiglass I could find. It worked great I just had to be a little careful when folding it up. I don't think that would work for a pop up shack though unless you removed the windows every time.

Good luck
