Marcum VX1 issue

I purchased a Marcum VX1 flasher 2 years ago. I don't use it much, probably a total of about 12 times on the ice. This past year I used it 3 times and it was acting a little goofy. Bottom wasnt giving a clear feedback line, distortion lines in between bottom and top. I tried adjusting the sensitivity and that didn't really help. Do you think I'm having transducer issues? The battery was charged fully so I don't think that was the issue. It worked great the 1st year and had these issues in year 2. Any ideas?

Anybody got a number for Marcum? If I remember right there was a regional rep that frequented this site last year.

I would also like to get one of those 'trickle" chargers that Marcum made that were always sold out last year. The ones that show the percentage of charge on battery and also do the trickly charge.

Im not sure how it could be a battery issue, but if that's the case it should be an easy fix. When the unit started giving me problems it was year 2, but it did run for 4-6 hours ( on 2 or 3 occassions) without the battery getting low. Can a battery keep supplying the power but have a malfunction that causes the interference issues I was having?

Before I get a new transducer I will charge the battery that came with the unit, and charge a second battery. If I hook the unit up to both batteries and get the same issues the process of elimination leads me to replacing the transducer. sound right?
