Rivers for crappies

this is for CrappieTom or anyone else.

Where would you recommend fishing for slabs in the minnesota river around new ulm, i used to fish in the cement washing pond behind Sioux Valley redi-mix but there doesnt seem to be any crappies in there these days. we used to get them over 1.5 lbs but now there are only small bass in there. My family owns some land by the river and that has some backwater would this be a good place to try for them?

Boy, that is a toughie for me...I have no knowlege of that area at all. Toss this post over to the south central forum or the Minnesota river forum and see if there is some help there. Sorry I cannot help with this, but I'm sure there are those who can.
