Competing Ice Fishing Shows

I heard on the radio that Cabelas is having an ice fishing show this weekend also. Why would they do that the same time as the show in St Paul? I thought it said the Clam guys would all be there. So does that mean they will not be at the St Paul show? Anyone know what is up with that?

Just looked it up online. Looks like they're holding the Cabela's Ice Fishing Classic, with seminars all day. Only a couple "pros" on hand, so I doubt they'll be taking much away from the REAL Ice Show. That said, I suppose it is an option for people who don't want to drive all the way to St. Paul. Probably won't hold a candle to the real deal, and they won't have Thorne Bros. stuff, so that's the deal-breaker for me

12:00 p.m. - Ice Fishing With Pro Guide Ed Peterson: A Power Point Presentation.

1:00 p.m. - Keys to Becoming a Better Ice Fisherman: Power Point With Humminbird Pro Staff Scott Petersen.

2:00 p.m. - 4 p.m. - Come hear Jeremy Smith from Linder’s Angling Edge speak on Ice Fishing Secrets. Jeremy is currently a co-host on Angling Edge and Fishing Edge. Come gather great ice fishing tips from this fishing expert!

Sunday, Dec. 4

I know for a fact that Clam will have "the booth" set up at the big show...ask Jim Hudson, and Im sure he will tell you he will be working it. I will not be making it to the show, for I have a lot of work to do around here (i.e. fishing/hunting) but hope all has a great time at the show!!!

Cabelas has done this for quite a few years. Its nothing new. They get a lot of customers on their way down to the show.. and there is no price of admission.
