heated garage question

Im currently in the process of buying a house. It runs on hot water heat with propane or an option of a wood boiler. Both boilers and the hot water heater are in the garage. I am just wondering what temp I should keep the garage at. Can I go lower than 55 or should I keep it at55 to be on he safe side.

Not that I'm bagging the question its just that no two houses are the same and the current homeowner could probably share a lot more info on the house in general that you will want to know about.
