hoggs222
I got a set of Motorola headphones that I use to listen to music off of my phone, while I work. I work in the lawncare industry. Whenever I'm running the mower or the backback blower, the bluetooth cuts in and out. The phone is always on me, so distance isn't the problem. Whenever I shut off the mower, it works just fine. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I didn't think that a gas powered engine could interfere with a bluetooth signal.Hoggs
CAMAN
It's called RF (radio frequency) interference, its coming from either the alternator/magneto or the distributor/spark plug wires. If it were only happening with one of the machines I'd say there is something not grounded properly or possibly going bad. But since you say it's with both machines I'd look more at the BT headset not being powerful enough to handle the RF coming from the motors. You could try building what is called a Farraday Cage around the electronic components on the engine. Or (and this would be my first choice) upgrade your BT headphones to a higher quality or different brand that may be able to handle and reject the interference. What model headphones do you have?
