Strikemaster/Eskimo compatability question

I have an older eskimo shark that runs like a top. It has the Tecumsah motor on it just for an age referance. My question is will a strikemaster auger bolt up to the eskimo powerhead? I know the rotation is the same which is clockwise. Id like to upgrade the shaft if i could since i cant justify a whole new auger when mine still runs so well.

Find a buddy who has one and check to see if it fits. Or you could even check with an extension, if it fits and the wholes line up you should be good.

i would go ask someone at a marine/fishing/hunting shop. just saying.

eskimo sells quantum auger shafts on their site. for around 150.00. They should be able to tell you if the shafts they sell would fit your powerhead.

or just make an adapter out of a chunk of bar stock....

Not sure about older models but my buddies Z71 connects right up to the strikemaster 224 auger no mods.

I called strikemaster to ask them and they couldnt tell me if it would work. but suggested that i find a buddy with one that i could try the shaft on. sooo thats what im gonna try and do but unfortunately dont know of one near me at the moment. im not far from strikemaster so if all else fails i might bring the powerhead in there and see if one will fit.

It should work... I have an eskimo mako with the tecumseh and switched the bit to a strikemaster after it got banged up. Not sure if it will for sure with the different model, but mine works great.
