Helmet communication device...

I posted this in the ATV forum, but have not received any responses yet. Maybe you sled guys might have a little more experience with this stuff...I am looking for some input on a helmet communcation system. I would like to get something so my wife and I talk to each other while trail riding with our ATV's. I do not know anything about these devices, and welcome any and all feedback on any models. We would typically be riding within close range, so I don't need anything with a super long range. How do most of these work?..do we buy a pair of them as a package, and we can only talk to each other?...or is it possible for other friends to link up with their devices if they get the same type? Are there different models/options to look at if I also wanted to use them snowmobiling? What should I look for or stay away from?...Thanks in advance for any information!

i bought a set of rhino 120 radios with the mic and earphone. they worked pretty good while quad riding and also had a gps so you could see the other persons location if they were not close. just my thoughts good luck

I have been using the Collette Communicator for the past 4 years. Excellent, well made communicator that allows for an MP3 and phone to be hooked into it. Just google Collette Communicator. They are made in Canada.

I ended up buying a set of Midland GTX 1050VP4. I liked the garmin rinos, but didnt really need the gps. So, for a fraction of the price, I hope it was worth the gamble. Thanks for the ideas!
