Hello Fellow HSO Members! I moved to Wright County Minnesota from Pennsylvania in January of 2010. Have been self-employed working as a contractor for a brokerage insurance agency out of PA for 10 years now. While living in PA I acquired many clients in PA, MD and WV. I tried to carry my profession with me to the great state of Minnesota by getting my insurance producer license in hand and taking on a few new companies that are competitive in the state. I have been primarily targeting Medicare beneficiaries and working with cold calling leads that are directed to soon to be new Medicare beneficiaries. Between the government regulations and the CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid) rules…it has made it extremely hard to write business within the guidelines with such a large competitive Medicare advantage market in this state. Our wonderful government does not allow agents to breath a word of these plans to people we cold call (even though these plans may be in their best interest when coming into Medicare price/benefits wise). As much as I love this business, I have started looking for other opportunities here. Stretching the dollars has become thin, and with a baby on the way (pray for it) it’s time to make some moves. Having a Bachelors Degree in Business Management/Marketing and over 10 years of sales/customer service and client management experience, I feel that I have what it takes to seek out other options and become a valuable asset to a company here as an employee. I have been very active on many job boards online, and have had some hits. Mostly all of them are with insurance companies to become an agent. If I go work with another insurance company as a sales agent, this would break my no-compete clause that I have in my current contract with the agency I have been working with. In doing that, I would lose all of the clients the I have attained over the years along with the residual income I get from having them as a client. My monthly residual is substantial enough that breaking my no-compete clause is not worth losing that monthly income.

As an avid fisherman since I could walk, I am reaching out to my fellow fisherman (and women) to keep an eye open and ear wandering if you know of any employment opportunities available. I am always open to suggestions or recommendations. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to private message me .

Thanks to you all in advance. Following a lot of threads on here has kept me grounded in the fishing world (and introduced into the ice fishing world).

Tom

Thanks upnorth & DownDeep. I have been tossing out applications online like crazy! It's amazing how some of the positions I have applied for I am DEFINITELY qualified for...but have not heard back from the companies (yet). Oh well, wake up in the morning and keep on plugging away. Right?

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
