BlackLabGuy
Anyone know if any migrants arrived at LQP yet?
Angry Irishman
I have two feeds going right now........300-400 in one.........1500+ in another. Looks like it could be a good weekend, but then again once they get cracked at on the firing line things tend to change a bit.

Bryce
Saw exactly 0 on an afternoon hunt on the north end of the lake yesterday. Don't think I've ever been out there without seeing one at least in the distance.
Angry Irishman
I find that hard to believe, but you were there...........there was a nice flight of geese north of HWY 40 last night at 6:15 pm, mulitiple flocks. The numbers I am seeing where I hunt are nice considering they generally don't make it to us for another week and half, two weeks.
Maxxed Out
Huge flights on the East and west side all weekend. More birds have to have shown up. It was a constant flight this a.m. from 8:30 until 11:00. We were 4 miles west of Randals and 3/4 mile south of Hwy 40.

Bryce
Afternoon hunt yesterday and procastinating pick up this morning. Maybe 100 geese with 20ish worth calling at. If the refuge is holding anything, it isn't feeding to the north.
Maxxed Out
Updated count is 22,000. After last weekend my guess was going to be around 25,000-30,000 but I'm an optimist. About 4-5K mallards and around 500 snows and blues and quite a few speckle belly's. Saturday is scheduled for a strong SSE wind. A SSE wind usually means the birds head out by Watson but if it's that strong that may not be the case.
Maxxed Out
Great weekend of hunting out on Lac. Lots of geese and some mallards in the fields. Should be new birds moving in on Tuesday or Wednesday with the NW wind.

Feathers Rainin
100,000 geese on the refuge. Judging by the forecast they will stick around awhile. Don't put away your guys yet There was 50,000 last weekend. Is it normal for it to increase this late in the year.
Muskie456
It has really changed over the years. It used to be ealier in the fall but the last couple years they have been showing up this late.

Maxxed Out
The challenge has been the last two years the temps in Winnipeg have been almost idenitical to and sometimes warmer that it is in Milan for most of the fall. They haven't had the big snow falls early that typically push the birds out. It's frustrating because people want the big numbers of birds on the refuge, but once you hit 20,000 geese you have birds pouring out every direction of the refuge.
