Reel rods or sticks?

I have always used stick rods using the hand over hand technique, well if you wanna call it technique with the stick flying over here and tangling the fishing line all up. I have tried using reel rods, but they don't seem to work as well, perhaps too light of a tip. Which do the rest of you prefer?

I think you're describing "The windmill technique", throw the stick and

spend the next half hour trying to untangle the mess. laugh not sure but

I think you're going to have to step up to a little better quality rod

at the least.

my dad still uses those jigglesticks! says the kinks in his line give him the idication of a bite... i debated with him and said there have been some great advancements in the tightlining world of the hardwater!! i gave him a couple frabill quicktips and a deadstick rod.... we'll see if he still goes hand over hand this year!!! he does have a perch sweetheart tb rod and a panfish tb rod, but those sit in the ol' bucket most of the year!!! just cant teach an ol' dog new tricks i guess!! again.. we'll see!!
