Hopefully you all have been able to get out and enjoy some unseasonable weather, I'd like to say I have, but it just hasn't been in the cards. But I'm about to embark on a little paddling journey myself. Hopefully I'll have some tales to tell once I return. Wear that lifejacket this time of year and know your limitations. Yeah, it's coming to a close unfortunately. I still plan on getting out a few more times in the kayak before the lakes ice up!

I will be heading out to a metro are lake Sunday morning, hopefully the walleye cooperate.

I'm lucky enough to have the LaCrosse River just a few short minutes from my house. If I get the NuCanoe itch, I can load up and put in. LaCrosse River doesn't freeze downriver from the dam.

I'm hoping that the cold in Duluth will numb me enough to get a few more weeks down in the cities. Waiting for Thule to ship me a new Hull-a-Port. 45mph crosswinds off lake superior shattered mine a few weeks ago. Everything stayed on for the 200 feet or so to stop. Have to admit though, they gave me the single BEST customer service experience I have ever had!

Canoed out of the BW yesterday while snow flurries were falling. I might be hanging up the canoe sooner than I thought.

Yeah I bundled up and hit a small lake by me. I was there in July and the pike were snappin'. Yesterday I had one bite and it didn't hook up, SKUNK! Water temp was 45-46 degrees, I couldn't believe it. Dropped 17 degrees in two weeks.

Yikes, that's a pretty big drop. Have the lakes turned over yet?

2 weeks ago around here they got really green and algae like. I think that was the beginning of it. The lake I was on last night was super shallow and I didn't notice the water clarity being any worse or anything.
