Lowrance 335 needs an exorcism

I have a Lowrance 335 on my bow. Last weekend it would just power up all by itself and start beeping real loud and flashing. I couldn't get it to stop without powering it down, than a couple minutes latter it would do it again.

Anyone heard of this?

The keypad is probably going bad, it's a known issue with a lot of Lowrances.

I was planning on replacing the unit on my dash to a Humminbird next spring. It looks like I'll be replacing both units.

It's possible that by working the keypad really hard --- and I mean hard ----- you'll be able to reseat the components and connections and get it working correctly again. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it works for a period of time and then the powering-on problem will return. Good luck with it.
