How's the late fall fishing?

Historically, how has the late fall fishing season been on devils lake? I really want to make a trip with the guys at work one more time before hardwater.

I've heard good things about fall. Just like most places, the eyes are putting on the feedbag before freeze up. Bonus is you can get in a bit of surf and turf if you decide to combo it and do some hunting. BTW, if you haven't already made reservations or have a place to stay, you're likely out of luck. Hotels, motels, and anything livable is locked up tight through at least December because of all the road construction in the area.

Just got a pic of a 28 inch eye that was caught from shore yesturday on DL from a buddy that just moved out there this summer I will be staying at his place next week for some eye and fowl action.
