hooksetter
The grass is really thinning on the top of a small hill in my backyard. I think that the soil there is pretty poor and I would like to add some black dirt to the area - without killing the existing grass and having to start all over.I have a sprinkler system but it still seems dry and thinning. What is the proper approach to this issue? hotrod1
Maybe try raising the height of cut on the mound? Or maybe get an aerator and aerify the mound opening as many holes as possible, then broadcast seed, drag the seed in with something (a small section of chain link fence works great for this), ferilize the area then water. try to stay of the hill with your mowere until you get seed to grow then mow it a little higher.
