Northland Mimic Minnow Shiner Tails

Recommended Posts

Well I like plastics for walleyes and Crappies and Im a sucker for sale bins of plastics. Well a while back I grabbed a few bags of these Mimic Minnow Shiner Tails out of a 50% off table at Marine General. Last week was the 1st time I finally put one on a jig and went crappie fishing. Needless to say the crappies absolutely pounded them. The crappies actually seemed to prefer them over minnows on a few days.

Only issue is I cant find them around my area and Im going to have to oder a bunch through Northlands HSOforum. I also heard that these may be being discontinued so Im going to get a bunch. If your a crappie and even walleye guys I recomend you get some of these if you find them in your area, especially if they might be discontinued. I know Im ordering my fill for a few years. wink

Oh sorry but I forgot to mention my best color was the Gold Shiner with the Silver Shiner and Glow Rainbow coming in distant 2nd and 3rd. The glow sunfish seemed to catch more walleyes in the dark water of the St. Louis River.

I've been using them for walleyes for some time. My favorite is the Silver Shiner. I buy the recloseable bags of just the plastic bodies, not the two packs that have the jig already in them. Less than $2.00 for a pack of 8, just insert your favorite 1/8 or 1/4 oz jig and hang on.

Are these the older ones without the fins on top? If so, one of my favorite Walleye lures of all times.I ordered a bunch from Northland 2 years ago and after giving a bunch away realized I only had a dozen left. Perch and Silver Shiner are my favorites too.
