I am from Glidden Wi. Yeah, do not blink that small of a town about 35 miles south of Ashland. I have a 40 up in Ashland that I go back for deer hunting. Sad to say do not get back much anymore. frown So no fishing report from me up there.

Comparing cameras side-by-side in real world situations, like under the ice, is the only way to know for sure how much better or worse one camera is compared to another. The idea of comparing cameras side-by-side in a store is a good idea, but the problem there is the lighting ---- it's not natural and it's too bright, and all cameras will look good with that much available light. But get them out on the water and you'll see differences .........

I've used and owned many, many different brands and models of cameras, and I feel pretty strongly that in real world fishing conditions, in side-by-side tests, most guys would think that Marcums show the best picture day-in and day-out. The cameras and displays that they use are the best, and that makes a difference imo.

For your question about comparing the VS625SD to the VS620, the color option on the VS625SD is a really nice option and gives a great picture in good viewing conditions. It's about $150 more so it's not cheap, but it's really nice if it fits in your budget. In the black/white mode both of those cameras would give you the same quality picture.

Hope that helps!
