Night fishing?

I know lots of folks fish musky at night, but never hear anything about pike. Do they not feed at night? Do any of you guys fish them at night or catch them while night fishing for other fish?

Probably others who are better informed than I. A few over the years but incidental to the targeted fish such as walleyes. However, oddly, altho, again not the species I was fishing for, I have caught more at night through the ice--not many, and a nice surprise. Caught a very nice one 2 years ago around 8:00Pm fishing crappies. One of those miracles on 2 lb test and the small hook lodged just on the tip of the mouth in skin. Was able to release in the hole.

I'd love to here from those who may target them at night.

Same here. Have only caught them when targeting other fish. That being said, I have been in spots during the day light ice fishing and caught 15-20 during the day and then none after dark. I do not think they feed heavily after dark.

I've heard others say they caught good pike after dark in open water, but not many. Personally, after hitting it for 15 hours or so during the day, I'm ready for refreshments, dinner and comradery at night.

I used to fish Bass a lot at night and we would catch the ocassional hammer handle. Nothing big we would always be fishing really shallow in the hot summer months.

Hardly any pike at night for me. I did catch my largest to date on a full moon at 11 pm though, mid to upper 30"s.

There have been some nights that I catch a lot of LM Bass when targeting walleyes though.

Till this day teh best Bass fishing of my life has been at night, you need to find some clear water though. All we threw were black spinnerbaits.
