decoys

Decoys can be a big help in the fall, however fall birds are quite different than what you are used to in the spring. Hens and their poults run together in flocks. Juvenile toms, or jakes, often start their own flocks, and the mature toms will be in flocks or their own kind. So, the decoys you put out should represent the birds you're hunting. If you are only interested in toms, use the tom decoys and leave the hens at home. If you are into the hens and their family flocks, leave the toms at home, don't mix them with both toms and hens like you might do in the soring because these two rarely run together in the fall.

Good luck!
