Decorative Wrap Book

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to purchase a decorative wrapping book, any suggestions?

The ones I've found online are Custom Rod Thread Art and Advanced Custom Rod Building by Dale Clemens and Decorate Wraps by Billy Vivona. Any experience with any of these books? Or something else?

I'm a visual learner, so I'm looking for something with pics, at least to learn the language. The +1 -2 stuff gets me turned around. I've done some really nice wraps including a pretty good fish scale wrap, so I'm not looking for entry level. I typically look at other people pics and can get a pretty good idea of how to do the wrap (that's how I did the closed scale wrap). But more pics and instruction on "how to" would be wonderful.

Let me know what you think/recommend.

Thanks,

I have the first Dale Clemens and Billy's book.....there both great, There are some advanced patterns in Billys, at the back of his book he gives spacing charts for the patterns....The rose wrap I posted a pic of is one of his patterns. I also picked up the cross wrap and weave software, thats going to take a bit to learn.

Every wrap I've done is from Billy's book. It took me awhile to get my mind wrapped around everything but eventually it starts to click. The patterns in his book are all in black, white and gray so it can be hard to visualize the possibilities each wrap presents.
