So I have managed to boat 5 fish total on the lake over the last couple years and every fish is under 33". I have raised plenty over 40 but no hungry ones..... Its gonna feel good when it happens, another thing, is it un common to see other musky hunters catch fish? I have yet to see anyone catch anything on the lake, probably too busy staring into the water!

V isn't easy, I have fished it last 3 years for a week every August so far lost a few and none in the net but dont think I have seen any in that low 30 size range but have had several follows from those 50-55" class fish.... Think all the pike we have boated have all been over 30". This year the week we were there camp put 10 or 11 in the net 1 under 40 and a couple over 50 and most in that mid to upper 40 range....

I would recommend changing up the lures you're throwing and spots you're fishing. 5 fish under 33" seems a little odd for Vermilion. I don't know what lures you usually fish with but try upsizing. Personally, I don't think you could throw a lure that is TOO big out on that lake.

I've seen over a couple dozen muskies caught out of that lake with maybe 6 being under 40" and 2 of those being under 30"... The two that were under 30" were caught on bass style lures.

Keep at it and you'll get a big one. According to that statistics you're due for a 50+ out on that lake.

To touch on your question about seeing other boats catch fish. Personally haven't seen very many other boats catch fish. But, the times that I have seen others boat one it seems that the boat I'm in just caught one before or shortly after seeing that. Those feeding windows can be small and are sure noticable when there is more than one boat on a spot... I wouldn't be discouraged from not seeing other boats catch fish.
