LMS 332 question

Juan Grande

Question

So I ordered a new transducer for my Lowrance LMS 332c from Amazon. It's made by LEI which is that company that I think makes all Lowrance's replacement parts.

Anyway, I went to plug it into the unit yesterday and the plug only has 5 pins and the ducer that came with the unit has 7 pins. I made sure that this was the correct transducer when I ordered it. Is it possible that two pins in the original ducer didn't do anything or that they refined it so that they only needed five pins in the replacement ducer?

It plugs in just fine so I'm going to take the boat out and see how it works. Just wondering if anyone has any insight on this.

Thanks

I remember when I used to sell electronics LEI would often discontinue an outdated model's transducer, but also make an adapter so you could use a new style of transduer with it. The other possibilty is that your original transducer was a dual frequency model or also included a temp sensor, and the new transducer that you purchased lacks one of those features so it has less pins. Call a LEI customer service person to find out if you need an adapter.

The transducer you should have for your 332c is the HST-WSBL. The T means it has a temperature sensor built into it. Your old transducer may have been an HS-WSBL, same transducer and same connector just does not have temperature. There should be a silver tag near the connector that tells you which transducer you have.
