i just bought a 4 x 8 fish house on skids home made steel siding like on a pole shed. it has 1 inch thick styrofoam on the walls and ceiling the floor is not insulated. over the foam is very thin paneling of some sort over it . appears to be very solid how well will this hold heat ive never had a insulated house. i hope to heat it with a mr buddy. just wondering the last house i had was a steel 4 x6 and i could freeze with even a sunflower heater in it thanks

I had a 6x10 with a uninsulated floor and the 1" thick pink foam insulation in the walls (covered with a heavier paneling) and it would get REALLY warm in there with the sunflower heater. Would sleep and sometimes fish the next morning in my unders with no probs.

I built a 6x8 spear house last year. Walls and ceiling are insulated with 1" stryofoam, floor is not insulated. I got it done slid it out of the garage and put my buddy heater in it. It was 5 degrees outside. I left the heater in it for an hour and it got to 95 degrees inside.

I have a 30x48 spear hole and I very rarely put my heater on high.

pretty consistent here. My 6x8 house is insulated with 1 inch styrofoam on the walls, not in floor. The sunflower set on low is too much to handle. I haven't measured degrees, but i've been in there on sub zero days with shorts/tshirt and was ready to pull that off. lol So it does get warm and keeps it comfortable. I wouldn't have a shanty w/o it, that's for sure.
