2012 Nissan Altima

Recommended Posts

I have always owned chevy impalas and have had good luck with them, but looking to try something different. Anyone have experience with the altimas either good or bad. The one i am looking at has the 3.5 V6 in it. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

I like to think of Nissans as the Chrysler of the import world.

A 2012 is pretty tough to give advice on but the older models......

They have had some issues with crank and cam sensors and are currently on their third update to try and resolve the issue.

Check on the cost of replacing a headlamp. It could cost a couple hundred dollars or more depending on what you have. Older models require the removal of the front bumper to replace the HID bulbs.

We see a fair amount of them with wheel bearing issues and have had a few with overactive ABS issues.

The variable valve timing is especially sensitive to lack of regular oil change services. I have had several with check engine lights and the fix was an oil change. There have also been issues with timing chain components but I have not personally run into one yet.

There are also issues with MAF sensors. They have updated the part and also have a computer flash update if needed after the repair.
