How do you fish them?

I fished a tournament Sunday that was won off wing dam bass. I went to one tonight and threw the tackle box at them and didnt get a single bite. How do you guys fish the wing dams?

And if you aren't fishing them what are you doing instead?

dont give up that quick because not all dams are made equal, and there are alot of fish to be caught on wingdams. a carolina rig is a pretty good way to attack them or else i use crank baits. the trick is to find the dams with something different on them or neer them. As an example my favorite wingdam has a rock pile about half way out just off the down river side.

Depending on the flow, I usually anchor on the upstream side of the tip within casting distance and fan cast from there. This is usually for walleye but I have laid the smack down on the bass as well. Alot of the biters will be on the front of the wingy. I mostly throw jigs and cranks.
