Is this supposed to be the second peak yea or did they go down alot?

I think this year was supposed to be "the peak" but reports from brood success has been low. I'd wager you'll see the same amount of birds or less than last year because of that.

Actually I believe 2009 was suppose to be the peak year...last year it went down a little and oddly back up this year as far as drumming counts are concerned, but still not as high as 2009. With the cool spring and rain i am guessing it will be another patchy year. Some good cover will hold a ton of birds..while other areas will be lacking.

it will be probably like 2 years ago where there were birds everywhere, but not as thick as mosquitoes as they were last year. but it should still be a great year for them none the less. get out before the numbers really start to go down!

I'll be out Saturday, heck or high water! I'm liking the 20-degree temps for this week's lows. Gonna get that underbrush down in a hurry, and hopefully the bugs along with it. Can't wait!!!
