Anyone crazy for filberts? I noticed on Tues. that they are prime in Bemidji, and I picked just enough to tell you that they are in the delicious stage! After a banner year around here for berries I can't seem to stop picking something when I'm in the woods...

Go to my old house, and pick them from the bushes across the road...

Any recent clear cut would surely have some growing around the edges. Cuts through the forest usually host them all along the edges. It's tough to look at the woods edges around here without seeing hazelnuts.

And yes, JP, you do need to come to Bemidji for some gathering and catching up!
