so i bought an 1860 mod-v

works great for the river, but i am wondering how this will do on the duck lakes...Its too big for the lake i generally hunt. Does anyone know which lakes around mankato this boat would work on? Swan? or will i just be fighting it all the way? I have a 35hp on it

North Lake near the metro is the ticket. If you need to tow your 18 ft out with a jon boat.

If the water is unusually high(good possibility this year), you can hunt Swan with an outboard.

I installed a Beavertail motor to my 18fthusky jon it really makes a big differnce in where you can go but I dont think mine is big enough but its never big enough

It pushed me trhu alot of rice last year but I did get a new boat for the motor and went back to the ob for big water on mine
