How often to change oil

Just hit 2500 miles on my bike since i bought it this spring and I'm starting to think about an oil change. Kinda curious to get some opinions on how many miles some of you guys run between changes. It's a liquid cooled twin and most of the driving is average highway and country road cruisin. I'm running full synthetic 20w50. At 50 bucks per change, I don't wanna change more than necessary, but don't wanna shorten the engine life either

Was the bike new or used when you bought it? If it was new and this would be the first change, I'd do it now and you should be good for another 5-6K running synthetic.

I bought it used with 22,000 miles on it.

I change mine once per year, just before winter put up, then that's the oil I drive on the next season. Average about 5,000 miles per year and the mfg's service recommendation on my bike is every 7,500 mi or once per year, whichever comes first.

I run RP 20W-50 and change every 2 years regardless of miles but you should be able to run any synthetic to 7500 miles.
