Another 2004 Silverado Question

Recommended Posts

Any air conditioning guys out there, here's a question for you. Once last summer and now twice the past month, when my truck has sat for a few days without driving, the air conditioning doesn't work. When I start it up and drive and turn on the air, heat comes out, I mean warmer than if it's on heat!!! All three of those times, once I shut the truck off and start it back up again the air works fine, nice and cold. This doesn't happen all of the time, like I said once last year, but twice in a month now, I'm afraid at some point the air will not work at all. Any thoughts on this? I know I have some recall bulletins, but not directly related to this.

I bought the part for $125 or so and replaced it myself. Mine was the driver side actuator and took under an hour to do. It took longer than it should have because I had trouble with the recalibration and it took a few times to stick.
