Body work on EZ Loader Trailer

I had a wheel come off a few weeks ago and it did significant damage to the fender and framing around the rear step. I have a 2003 Skeeter TZX190 with an EZ Loader Trailer. Bristows in St. Cloud wasn't really interested in repair and quoted $3400 for a new trailer.

Anyone know of any body shops that will work on boat trailers? I new fender, some bending, welding, and painting and she should be good as new. I just can't see spending $3400 on a new trailer.

Always, always, always, snug your lug nuts before every big trip!!!

Here's a couple pics of the carnage:

Shiltsy:

I would advise starting with an experienced EZ Loader Dealer's opinion/advice. They can locate the replacement parts and work with or guide you to a welder.

A couple of possibilities for you:

1) Hanney's Marine - They are an EZ Loader dealer with whom I have excellent service experience. They are open on Saturdays. If you can drop by there with your trailer and they will take a look, and give you the straight advice. (My hope is parts could be ordered and installed.

I would definitley look at a replacement fender to be mounted. I work in a metal shop. to build that fender would be very pricey.Also. It may be worth an insurance claim if you can do that. not sure though

I stopped by Heppner's Auto Body in Woodbury. They were great to deal with an quoted by about $500-600 to bend/weld/paint everything back together. I get the parts from EZ Loader and they take care of the rest. It's looking like the fender will only be $40, so this should be relatively painless.

Bristows was quoting $2200 to order parts and have a body shop do the repair work.
