It's been a long time since I've fished for catfish growing up in IA. Now my son is heading down to the Cedar River for some catfishing with Grandpa and we're looking for some basic set up and bait tips so he can out fish Grandpa. Trevor is 8 yrs old and a pretty good stick for crappies, bass and walleye but catfish will be a new chapter, any good tips out there for bank fishing cats?

Your gonna try and out fish Grandpa on his home water? ....maybe if he takes a nap you might grin Better off just checking with him.
