Line Color - is white not alright?

Recommended Posts

I am far from an expert and certainly have not tried using different colors to see if it matters but my initial thought is I don't think it would. Especially if fish don't care about wire leaders in front of the lures.

But thats just my guess

I have tried just about every color of line that they make. White, camo, red, green......all been on my reels at one point in time. The only one that I didn't like was the red, only because it bled all over the place. Right now I have have either TUF line (White) or Spiderwire (Camo) braid on my reels. Like them both and both catch fish. IMHO......line color doesn't make a difference.

I don't think it makes too much difference one way or another. Fish that eat firetiger suicks and bright yellow bucktails aren't terribly line shy. It's not like we're using finesse techniques where they really get to inspect your bait.

I know a very well known Lake of the Woods guide who thinks that bright line may help in dark water - lets fish know something's in the neighborhood... For what that's worth.
