Float rigs

It's hard to say. But if your're running a 6-8 ft spinner rig with two inline floats(rig I've seen a lot at Cabelas) and run it 1 - 1.5 mph I'd guess you pick up about 1 ft or so give or take. If you lengthen out to say 10 ft You'd pick up another 6" or so. The effects of the water will what to push it down toward it's anchor point. So you don't gain as much as you think.

I realize this could be a complex question, but it would be nice to have a general idea.
How far up will a spinner rig ride, with a float compared to without one? HEH!

That's quite an interesting observation. I've never used one so I'm actually quite clueless about it but I thought it would float higher. Didn't think much about the actual pressure pushing downward on the hook, line, and bait.
