Navionics hotmaps or Mapcreate

Thinking of getting a fishing gps. Lowrance looks like they have some good options in the ifinders. But, is it worth getting the navionics hotmaps if you get the mapcreate? Can't tell if the mapcreate software shows structure, etc, of popular lakes.

Go with one of the other chips. Mapcreate will show very little structure. It will not have depth contours, names of points, islands etc. It does have a fairly decent city map system.

I've always liked the Garmin Mapsource line. They have pretty decent detail. Garmin's GPSs have always been some of the best. Be sure not to overlook any before you make your purchase. Good luck!

I agree that the garmins have always been good. They are the only brand I was willing to use in my airplane - The lowrance's would quit working after a year or so. But, it looks like I need to give Lowrance a second chance here. I can find the lakes I need in Navionics for Lowrance, but not for the Garmins.
