I would recommend getting a hold of CIBL he sent me a couple of tapes a while back, about 5-6 hours of lake erie fishing and it appears he knows what he is doing.I am also planning on making a trip out there this year.

I would certainly go with a guide if you have never been there before. Too big of a lake to mess around with and it can get rough. The guides also talk to one another so they know where the fish are always biting. There are quite a few guides listed on the internet. The city of Port Clinton is where I base out of. It is a nice little town right on the lake about 45 miles east of Toledo.

I think they still do the best catching walleyes with Erie Dearies. Don't do what I did and think you can "Minnesota" those walleyes with Lindy Rigs and Spinners. Granted, I caught a few walleyes, but could not keep the biggest sheepshead I have ever seen off my line. The Erie Dearies far outfished anything else.
