Leadcore/3-ways/Planers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, hope you can help me out with this one. Just bought a new boat and now have the ability to use some new techniques which I was unable to utilize before. I picked up a linecounter reel and a couple longer trolling rods for open water and precision trolling uses. I would like to use any and all of the three methods above including inline wieghts. What tips can you give a previously all live-bait rigging and jigging guy like myself to get me started.

I'm doing the same thing this year. I bought leadcore and line-counter reels, along with GPS mapping--can't wait to try it. one tip I heard was experiment trolling in varies depths w hard bottom to get a feel for exactly how much line is needs for certain baits to get to certain depths. Precision trolling is a good measuring tool, but it is theoretical and doesnt cover the entire spectrum of lines and speeds.

I got the book precision trolling and let me tell you. It tells the truth! Its a great tool to have for all differnt kinds of cranks.
Just one set back is they dont have all of the new lures in there. So does anyone know were you could order a new page or something with some of the new lures dive curve? That would be great and help out a ton!
