Climbing Stands Mix and Match

I plan on buying my first climber and am wondering if any one has mixed and matched foot platform and seat. I see some companies sell the foot platform or seat separately. An example would be a lone wolf platform and with a summit seat. Is this possible and has anyone done it.

I would think it would work. Ask a sales person to let you match up the brands and see if it feels good.

I was just thinking that some platforms are lighter than others and some seats are in the same situation.

I have seen a few stands setup with a lone wolf platform and summit seat, it really is the best of both worlds and I have even considered doing it myself. The only reason I haven't is my summit seat is a little bulky and my lone wolf hand climber seat is just so tiny and easy to pack in. For an all day sit I would want to take the summit seat.

I wonder if the two pieces would fit together and not make noise through the woods. I guess I want my cake and be able to eat it too. I was thinking about the long wolf platform with a summit seat.

You might have to make a few small modifications to fit them together or maybe use some kind of buffer/padding in between the two sections so they don't rattle but nothing major.
